LUMINIOUS ORNAMENT
A TELEVISUAL RE-IMAGINING OF THE SIR JOHN SOANE MUSEUM
PROJECT DESCRIPTION<
The project aims to investigate how ornaments can be the product of light, shadow and colour by reinterpreting John Ruskin. Instead of the monochromatic classical ornamentation created by the stonemasons of the past, this project reinvents ornament as the polychrome layers of televisual projection.
The method of designing ornament stems from a desire to create a connection between the neighbouring ‘John Soane Museum’ and the client who operates at the forefront of digital media and wireless networks.
Her collection of modern and contemporary art, with a focus on collage/assemblage, will be absorbed by polychromatic projections and dynamic oscillation of light and shadow.
