Ornament has always been used as a symbol of power, the most beautiful ornamentation is found not only in church, furniture but also on the most deadly weapons. Armours, guns, knifes, swords are all ornamented to show how powerful their owners are, and so are architectures.

Nowadays, under modernist rule, ornaments have been forgotten within the new machined-aesthetic. My project is about creating an ornamental space for an art collector. I designed an ornamental scheme which tests the relationship between the war/weaponary machine aesthetic and Gothic principles, where the war/weapon aesthetic is about repetition and non-hierarchical array and the Gothic principle is focused on dynamic variations and beauty.
